Mercedes S-Class Car (2021)
This is the seventh generation of executive sedans from the recognized German automaker. In terms of technology, design, comfort, and safety, this flagship car of the W223 series will set the benchmark for competitors for years to come.
Exterior
The recognizable body shape, made of lightweight and durable aluminum alloy, has become even more streamlined. Thanks to this, the aerodynamic resistance coefficient has been reduced to a record value of 0.22. The average fuel consumption varies from 6.4 to 9.5 liters per 100 kilometers depending on the modification.
The length of the base model has increased by 94 mm and now stands at 5210 mm. The width has increased by 55 mm to 1954 mm, and the height by 9 mm to 1503 mm. The wheelbase is 3216 mm.
Another innovation is the option to choose a Mercedes S-Class with regular or recessed door handles integrated into the body.
Technical Specifications
The base model is equipped with a 3-liter six-cylinder gasoline turbocharged engine with an integrated starter-generator with EQ Boost function. This mild hybrid system adds 22 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, providing an output of 435 horsepower and 520 Nm. As an alternative to the standard pneumatic suspension, which provides excellent smoothness and control of the car, the E-Active Body Control hydro-pneumatic suspension is available. It automatically adjusts the damping parameters on each wheel and in case of a side impact, can raise the body by eight centimeters to prevent damage. All versions are equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission 9G-Tronic.
Interior and Electronics
The main advantage of the Mercedes S-Class is its modern electronics. The comfort of the cabin, which meets the highest standards, is provided by "smart" seats with Energizing seat kinetics system, dual-zone climate control with 17-position electric motors, a powerful audio system with 27 speakers, and many other elements.
But the real highlight of this model is its digital technologies and unique front panel architecture. Here is the second generation of the MBUX multimedia system. It is separated from the dashboard and is located above the central tunnel. Most of the car's functions can be controlled through a vertical touch screen with a diagonal of 12.8 inches. The system recognizes voices in 27 languages and allows you to make purchases, control a "smart" home, choose routes without traffic jams, and much more.
In addition to the multimedia system, the cabin is equipped with two screens in front of the rear passengers, a touch tablet in the central armrest, a three-dimensional instrument panel, and a projection display in front of the driver with augmented reality system. This display in real-time can display navigation prompts on the windshield depending on the road situation.
Protection
The durability of the touch screens is ensured by protective glasses from PIXSEL. Thanks to the wear-resistant coating, you don't have to worry about scratches, UV exposure, or accidental impacts. Protective hybrid glass with matte or glossy coating will preserve the aesthetics and functionality of the screens.
